Services

Tree, land, and bee work

Eight overlapping service areas. Most jobs combine two or three.

Tree Planting

01

Tree Planting

Native and exotic plantings, anything from a single tree at a house to multi-hectare blocks on rural land. We source eco-sourced natives where it makes sense, and choose species to suit your soil, exposure, and what you're trying to achieve. Shade, shelter, pollinator forage, or a long-term timber block. Across the planting season we often have capacity for 200,000+ trees.

Typical jobs

  • Riparian and wetland-edge planting
  • Shelterbelts on rural land
  • Native infill planting on lifestyle blocks
  • Forestry-scale block planting

Pest Plant Control

08

Pest Plant Control

Old man's beard, woolly nightshade, tradescantia, climbing asparagus, wild ginger, blackberry. Some pest plants come out cleaner with a chainsaw or a set of loppers and a precise stem treatment than with a blanket spray. We work with hand tools, mini chainsaws, and stump-paint herbicide, picking the right approach for the plant, the location, and what's growing next to it. Native plants you want to keep don't get touched.

Typical jobs

  • Cut-and-paste stump treatment on woody pest plants
  • Targeted lopper work on climbing pests through native bush
  • Mini-chainsaw work on dense stands of woody weeds
  • Pre-planting clearance where spray isn't appropriate (waterways, near natives)

Beekeeping

09

Beekeeping

Fifteen years of beekeeping behind the work. Hive placement on rural land, honey-flow management, and pollination support. Where it crosses over with planting, the two reinforce each other. Your block of mānuka and kānuka pulls the bees, the bees lift the seed set on the natives. DECA accredited for American Foulbrood (AFB) inspection and management, in line with the AFB National Pest Management Plan.

Typical jobs

  • Hive placement on a rural property
  • Pollination support for orchards
  • Combined planting + beekeeping packages
  • Year-round colony management and inspections
  • AFB inspections under a current DECA

Bee & Wasp Removal

010

Bee & Wasp Removal

Two callouts we get all spring and summer: a bee swarm hanging in a tree or off a fence, and a wasp nest causing grief in a roof cavity or under a deck. Different problems, different solutions. Bee swarms get collected alive and re-homed into a hive (bees are too valuable to kill, and we check every collected colony for American Foulbrood under our DECA accreditation before it joins our apiary). Wasp nests get treated at the source, usually after dark when the colony is all home. Either way, fast response, no fuss.

Typical jobs

  • Live bee swarm collection from trees, fences, sheds, and roof eaves
  • Wasp nest eradication, including tricky locations (roof cavities, retaining walls, in-ground)
  • Beehive relocation when a hive needs to move
